Juan Soto acknowledged that the standing ovation he received from New York Mets fans a couple of days ago was truly meaningful to him. The Dominican star confessed how significant it was to hear the Citi Field crowd show their appreciation in that way.

“It’s a great feeling, when the fanbase are supporting you, when you doing good or bad, its just great. I really appreciate what they did. I feel like they don’t know how meaningful that is. It means a lot to the players when they do that. It feels really special,” Soto told SNY.

It’s worth recalling that during the standing ovation in Game 2 against the St. Louis Cardinals, Mets fans were eager to see Soto at the plate. In a show of gratitude, he delivered a hit that helped the Mets tie the game.

Soto and the Fans Share a Connection

In other recent remarks to SNY’s Steve Gelbs, Soto admitted that the Mets fans have been fantastic since the very first day of the MLB season, saying, “It’s been great, this crowd has been unbelievable day in and day out. I really love the support. They’ve been great since day one, so thank you.”

So far, Soto is performing well for the Mets, and the fans are recognizing his efforts. Days prior, he also stated that team success is his top priority, even more so than personal home runs or other records some might be anticipating from him.

A Promising Season Ahead for Soto

Projections for Soto’s season are quite optimistic. He is expected to potentially play in every regular-season game for the Mets and contribute at least 23 home runs and 69 RBIs. This kind of production would undoubtedly further excite the fans who are still awaiting his first home run in a Mets uniform.
