Ever since he entered the NBA in 2003, it became pretty clear that LeBron James was a family man. He married his high school sweetheart and was a caring, involved, proud father for Bronny, Bryce, and Zhuri.

That’s why alot of people have inquired about the possibility of LeBron James staying in the NBA until his elder son is old enough to play with or against him. That, considering Bronny is likely to be a highly-coveted prospect once he’s eligible to turn pro.

And now that LeBron James has signed a contract extension with theLos Angeles Lakersthat will keep him in the NBA until 2023, it seems like that dream scenario of both James playing side by side is officially a possibility.

LeBron James And Bronny James Could Play Together In The NBA

ESPN’s Dave McMenaminwas the first to break down the situation, reporting that Bronny James is slated to graduate high school in 2023, right at the same time when his contract with the Lakers runs out.

“LeBron James’ two-year, $85 million extension – as confirmed to ESPN by his agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports – will take him through the 2022-23 season, giving him 20 in the NBA. His oldest son, Bronny, is slated to graduate high school in 2023,” McMenaminreported.

Shams Charania of The Athletic added that if the NBPA and NBA chance the high-school-to-pro rule again – as expected – Bronny could make it to the league straight out of high school in 2023:

“LeBron James‘ contract runs through 2023 — when his son, Bronny, graduates high school and could have option to enter the NBA Draft if the league and NBPA change the high school-to-pro rule, Charania added.

That means that LeBron James would be the owner of his destiny and could sign a one-year-deal with whichever team takes Bronny in the Draft to play one final season next to his firstborn. That would be the ultimate full circle and every hooper’s dream, for sure.
