The NBA is where amazing happens, that’s for sure. You never know what’s going down behind closed doors, who’s calling who, and which player could be the next to pack his bags and move somewhere else. Year after year, teams and executives surprise us with blockbuster deals that completely shake up the landscape of the Association, and there’s no reason to believe that this season will be the exception to that rule. In fact, we could be looking at quite an agitated trade deadline.
For the first time in years, multiple stars could be changing threads pretty soon. There are some obvious buyout candidates such as Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond, while other stars like DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and even Bradley Beal could be on the move.
Needless to say, trading for such talent won’t be easy for the teams lining up to acquire their services, but it’ll be worth it. So, without further ado, let’s check out the three superstars that could be traded in the next couple of weeks.
The 3 NBA Stars Most Likely To Be Traded This Season
3. DeMar DeRozan
DeMar DeRozan hasn’t looked the same since leaving the Toronto Raptors. He’s just not made for the San Antonio Spurs’ system and it doesn’t seem like he’s got intentions of extending his stay at Texas.
DeRozan isn’t the All-Star he once was but he could still be a huge second-scoring option for any contending team. His contract is set to expire at the end of the season and the Spurs can’t risk losing him for free.
2. Zach LaVine
The Chicago Bulls are rebuilding so parting ways with a young stud like Zach LaVine could push them back. Then again, they may not have a choice, as LaVine has already outgrown the team and is ready to win now.
Zach was pretty frustrated last year under Jim Boylen and, while he’s improved this season and the team looks much better with Billy Donovan at the helm, that may not be enough to convince him to stay at the Windy City beyond this season.
1. Bradley Beal
And, obviously, we gotta talk about Bradley Beal. He’s been putting up videogame-like numbers but the Washington Wizards can’t seem to close out or win games even despite his Herculean efforts.
Beal is pretty much wasting his career at the nation’s capital and that’s got to stop at some point. Trading for him will be tricky because of his contract but the rumor around the league is that he could try and force an exit rather sooner than later.
