C.J. Gardner-Johnson reveals his intentions about playing alongside Josh Allen with Bills

One of the main reasons C.J. Gardner-Johnson ultimately decided to join the Buffalo Bills was the opportunity to be surrounded by superstar talent like Josh Allen — and, perhaps, make another run at a Super Bowl.

“A chance to win with a good quarterback. Josh (Allen) is phenomenal,” he revealed, via the team’s official website. “[Be] a part of a team that has a fighting chance every Sunday, and I just have to [rebuild] and [find] my identity again … go out there [and] just be you playing football with guys that [have] been playing at a high caliber. Surrounding myself with superstars.”

The veteran safety already knows what it’s like to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy, and he believes his arrival in Bills Mafia could give him a great chance to reach the top of the NFL once again.

In Super Bowl LIX, C.J. Gardner-Johnson helped the Philadelphia Eagles secure a 40–22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans. The veteran safety recorded 3 total tackles (1 solo) and played a key role in a defensive effort that stifled the Chiefs’ high-powered offense, earning his first championship ring.

Several teams in a short time

By signing with the Bills, C.J. Gardner-Johnson is set to join his fifth different team in just four years. Since leaving the Saints in 2022, the safety has transitioned from the Eagles to the Lions, back to Philadelphia for a SB-winning campaign in 2024, and through a whirlwind 2025 season with the Texans and Bears before arriving in Orchard Park.

Gardner-Johnson’s unique reputation has put the spotlight on whether his presence on the field can truly help the Bills make a big impact. Only time will tell if this new chapter in his career will end in victory once again.
