The Dallas Cowboys are looking to redeem themselves after disappointing seasons, going all-in ahead of the 2025 NFL season. Quarterback Dak Prescott is confident in what he and his team can accomplish following the arrival of several new players—especially standout wide receiver George Pickens.

The last few seasons for the franchise led by the legendary Jerry Jones have fallen short of expectations, making a postseason berth absolutely crucial. With Brian Schottenheimer stepping in as the new head coach, America’s Team will need to establish itself from start to finish as a legitimate contender—at the very least within the NFC East.

In a move few saw coming, the Cowboys managed to land wide receiver George Pickens, who played for the Steelers last season. Prescott knows he now has two top-tier targets in Pickens and CeeDee Lamb—and he hasn’t hidden his excitement about it.

“Huge. Huge. Yeah, very huge,” the QB stated, per Calvin Watkins of Dallas News. “I mean looking at [the] guy’s tape, you see what he does, the kind of receiver he is. He’s going to win on one on ones. He can win two vs. one if he has to. Very, very talented guy. When you can add him alongside a CeeDee and the rest of the weapons we have, I’m super excited.

George Pickens #14 of the Pittsburgh Steelers celebrates after scoring a touchdown during the thrid quarter of a game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Acrisure Stadium on December 23, 2023 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

During his time in Pittsburgh, the former Georgia Bulldogs player put up outstanding numbers. He recorded 174 receptions for 2,841 yards and 12 touchdowns in 48 regular season games.

Top-tier targets for Prescott

The arrival of George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys, while surprising to many, was a scenario some had anticipated—especially after Schottenheimer’s team chose not to select a wide receiver in the most recent NFL draft.

Undoubtedly, one of the biggest beneficiaries of this move is Dak Prescott, who, after a disappointing season marred by injuries, will look to reestablish himself as one of the best at his position—this time surrounded in the best possible way.

Pickens joins a receiving corps led by none other than CeeDee Lamb, one of the team’s standout players, who recently expressed enthusiasm about playing alongside Pickens and proving that they’re ready to accomplish great things next season.

Will the Cowboys finally make a statement in the upcoming season with these impressive names on the Lone Star team’s roster?
