JuJu Smith-Schuster was one of the most disappointing players of the 2020 NFL season and it wasn’t even close. He once again failed to prove that he could be a WR1 as the Pittsburgh Steelers offense was pedestrian, to say the least.

Two years ago, Smith-Schuster got a pass because of Ben Roethlisberger’s injury. Last year, he was quite underwhelming with 97 receptions for 831 yards and 9 touchdowns, which are not the numbers you’d expect out of the main weapon in the passing game.

That, plus his antics on social media and his dances on the rivals’ team logo, made it clear for the team that he wasn’t worthy of a franchise tag, and he knows that his days with the team are coming to an end.

JuJu Smith-Schuster Knows He Won’t Come Back With The Pittsburgh Steelers

As a matter of fact, JuJu Smith-Schuster even voted on a poll by Sports Illustrated, letting everybody know that ‘that’s not happening’ when they asked about a potential new deal with the Steelers.

JuJu became a bit of an infamous character around the league for his ‘Corvette Corvette’ dance and even though he claimed that he wasn’t going to apologize for having fun, the Steelers forced him to do it after he was rocked out of his body by Bengals’Vonn Bell.

Smith-Schuster was supposed to prove that he was ready to lead the offense after Antonio Brown’s departure but he was easily shadowed by opposing defenses when he was given the chance to be ‘the man’.

Now, it seems like he’ll be taking his talents – and Tik Toks – elsewhere as plenty of teams will look to upgrade their receiving corps. Then again, we wouldn’t expect him to make nearly as much money as he expects.
