As the NFL‘s free agency season began with some big moves, the newly added Ben Johnson to the Chicago Bears made one of the most significant and impactful improvements, catching the attention of his former player in Detroit Lions, Amon-Ra St. Brown.

In a recent appearance on his podcast, @StBrownPodcast, the former USC Trojans player was stunned by the number of moves his former coach made during the free agency process, especially impressed by the significant amount of money the Bears invested in multiple players.

“I feel like the Bears have unlimited (expletive) money. This (expletive) is crazy,” St. Brown said. “They’re just signing new (expletive) for like $40 million dollars.”

“They have unlimited money. What the (expletive) is this?” the talented wide receiver also added. “Ben is making moves left and right.”

The Bears’ additions

The NFC North was one of the most competitive divisions last season in the NFL, with the exception of the Chicago Bears, who ended with a losing record, finishing at the bottom of the standings.

In an effort to move past last season, the Windy City placed its bet on the talent of Ben Johnson as the new head coach. With him, a massive influx of top-tier talent is now joining the Bears’ roster.

So far, the following reinforcements have joined Chicago for the upcoming season: Drew Dalman, Joe Thuney, and Jonah Jackson, while the defense was strengthened with Grady Jarrett and Dayo Odeyingbo.

Surrounding Caleb Williams with the best possible support

The Bears are looking to be the breakout team next season in the NFL, and to achieve that, they are slowly starting to shape the roster that will represent them on the field.

Relying on the talent of quarterback Caleb Williams, both the coaching staff and the front office will focus on surrounding the former USC star with the best possible support, allowing him to fully develop his game.

With free agency underway and the draft ahead, it will be a matter of seeing which positions still need reinforcement to achieve solid performance across all lines for the upcoming season.
