Aaron Rodgers is close to signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to the team’s owner, Art Rooney II. During an interview with Steeler Nation Radio, the latest update seems very promising.
“We’re still kind of getting the same signals we’ve been getting recently that he does want to come here. I do think we may get word soon obviously with things starting to crank up here with the offseason program. If he’s coming, we would like to get him soon for some of that.”
Despite the criticism he has received for his decision to wait for Rodgers, Rooney expressed confidence that the original plan is still on track. Aaron is the missing piece to contend for the Super Bowl next season.
Who will be Steelers starting QB?
Art Rooney II hinted that Aaron Rodgers will be the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2025 season as he’s been hearing all those positive signals. Additionally, the owner was clear in stating that the veteran had no influence on the team’s decision not to draft Shedeur Sanders.
At the moment, Mason Rudolph is the QB1 on the Steelers’ depth chart, and notably, the owner said that it is very likely Pittsburgh will select another quarterback in the late rounds of the draft.
