The Kansas City Chiefs enter the 2025 season with the expectation of keeping their Super Bowl ambitions alive after a decisive loss in last year’s championship game to the Philadelphia Eagles. In the face of rumors about a potential end to the dynasty, head coach Andy Reid stepped forward to speak on behalf of his roster, led by star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Five Super Bowl appearances in six years and three championships would impress anyone. However, the crushing loss to the Eagles in the title game still raises questions about whether the Chiefs can maintain their dominance in the AFC.
Mahomes will continue leading the team as its star quarterback, with Travis Kelce once again serving as one of his best weapons. Reid is determined to keep his roster focused, steering them away from criticism and doubt. His energy is firmly set on keeping the standard high for another year.
Reid’s strong statement on the Chiefs’ upcoming season
“When it’s all said and done, it’s winning the game. We have winners, and they figured it out. I was proud of them for that. We don’t listen to all the noise. If you do that, you’re going to go crazy,” Reid told Up & Adams when discussing what to expect from the Chiefs in the upcoming season.
“You understand because there were so many close games. But that’s the National Football League, so I was proud of the guys and how they handled those. I don’t care about the noise. Let’s go win the game,” Reid added, speaking about what Mahomes, Kelce, and the rest of the team must do.
The Chiefs’ debut
The Chiefs kicked off their preseason against the Arizona Cardinals, falling 17-20 in a game where Mahomes threw a touchdown pass before being rested as a precaution. After two more matchups against the Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears, the Missouri franchise will open the NFL regular season on September 5 against the Los Angeles Chargers in São Paulo, Brazil.
