The Dallas Cowboys finally secured another win in the 2024 NFL season, a welcome relief for the team after suffering a home defeat last week. However, not everything went smoothly during the Thursday Night Football game in Week 4. Controversial calls by the referees provided an opening for Tyler Guyton to deliver a pointed critique of the league.

Following the Dallas Cowboys’ game against the New York Giants, rookie lineman Tyler Guyton was spotted heading to the locker room when he looked directly at a camera and clearly said, “The NFL needs better refs! Please!” The comment was shared by Mike Leslie of WFAA in Dallas on his personal X account.

It’s worth noting that Guyton is in his first season with the Cowboys, and the game against the Giants marked his fourth professional appearance this year. He has participated in over 260 snaps for the franchise across the last four games.

In addition to his snaps and time on the field with the Dallas Cowboys, rookie lineman Tyler Guyton has also been flagged for several penalties in his short NFL career. Whether or not he agrees with the calls, Guyton has drawn five accepted penalties so far, costing the Cowboys a total of 55 yards.

Guyton’s Penalties vs. the Giants

During the Cowboys’ victory over the New York Giants, Guyton was penalized three times, once in each of the first three quarters. All were for offensive holding, resulting in a total loss of 20 yards.

To date, Guyton has been penalized in each of the four games he’s played in the 2024 NFL season. Most came against the Giants, but he also drew two flags against the New Orleans Saints — one for offensive holding and another for a false start.
