Tom Brady has dominated the National Football League for the past 20 years so it’s only natural to see his game take a bit of a downfall as he passes the torch to the next generation of great quarterbacks.

And, judging by what we’ve seen thus far, it seems like the NFL is Patrick Mahomes’ league now, as the reigning Super Bowl MVP continues to break records and set marks even though he hasn’t been around the league that much.

Moreover, it seems like we’re not the only ones who think that, as even Tom Brady himself reached out to him to tell him how impressed he was by his game right after the Patriots beat the Chiefs in the 2019 AFC Championship game.

Patrick Mahomes Recalls What Tom Brady Told Him After The 2019 AFC Championship Game

“He just grabbed me after the game.I was kind of leaving the stadium, and they had obviously been celebrating going to the Super Bowl. He just talked about how he respected how I did everything the right way and stuff like that. It’s just cool to have a guy of that stature who’s won championships it seems like year in and year out that has respect for your game as much as you have respect for his. It was definitely a cool experience that I was able to know that I was doing things the right way early in my career,”Mahomes said, as quoted byAdam Teicher of ESPN.

Needless to say, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs bounced back in a big way next season, going the distance and dominating in the playoffs to win the Super Bowl and now they continue to be the team to beat in the NFL.

It’s natural to see the greats leave and take a backseat to those new talents. And we can’t think of a better feeling than knowing that we’ll get to witness Mahomes pave his way to the Hall of Fame for the next two decades as well.
