Aaron Rodgers has yet to make any official statement regarding his NFL future, despite ongoing speculation linking him to several teams in need of a veteran quarterback. Ben Roethlisberger, one of the most iconic players in recent Pittsburgh Steelers history, weighed in on the topic and shared what he believes could be a key factor in tipping the scales toward Rodgers joining Mike Tomlin’s team.

As the NFL community awaits the official release of next season’s schedule, the two-time Super Bowl champion suggested that its structure could, in some way, influence Rodgers’ decision to potentially join the Steelers — adding a layer of pressure to the QB’s looming choice.

These particular comments from Big Ben came during a new episode of his Footbahlin show, where the legendary quarterback continued to share his thoughts on the ongoing saga linking his former team to Rodgers.

“I’m wondering how much pressure, and I don’t even know if they can, how much pressure the NFL is putting on the team, someone, we would like to know what’s going on with Aaron,” Roethlisberger said.

He also added: “No offense to anybody else, but the Pittsburgh Steelers are much more prime time with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback than they are with any of the quarterbacks we have on our roster at quarterback.”

What will Rodgers’ final decision be?

While the conclusion to this long-running saga has yet to be officially confirmed, it’s believed that both Mike Tomlin and the Steelers reportedly already know Aaron Rodgers’ final decision regarding what lies ahead in the near future.

According to NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic, who spoke on her podcast Scoop City, the quarterback has committed to joining the team — he’s just avoiding questions about skipping Organized Team Activities (OTAs).

“Still waiting for Aaron Rodgers,” she said. “Whether or not he’s going to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers — Chase [Daniel], I talked to some people within the league and they have their theories that the Steelers know Aaron’s going there.

“They have a handshake that he’s going to be there, he just doesn’t want to answer questions about not being at Organized Team Activities (OTAs) because he just wants to step away for now.”
