With the 12th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected Tyler Booker. He has now signed his rookie contract, and here are all the details of the deal for Dak Prescott‘s new teammate.
The Cowboys have not enjoyed much success in recent seasons. Despite having a talented roster, they have struggled to play consistently as a team, and fans are growing increasingly frustrated with the situation.
One of the key areas the front office aimed to improve is the offense. That’s why Dallas used its first-round pick this year to add protection for Dak Prescott by selecting top guard prospect Tyler Booker.
Tyler Booker becomes one of the highest-paid rookie guards in the NFL
The Cowboys made a solid first-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. At No. 12 overall, the franchise chose Tyler Booker, widely considered one of the best guards in his class.
Dallas wanted to provide Prescott with better protection. The 6-foot-5, 325-pound lineman was a first-team All-American last season and a two-time first-team All-SEC selection. Rebuilding the offensive line is a top priority, and drafting Booker was a major first step.
Now, the former Alabama standout has signed his rookie deal. Booker inked a four-year, $22.5 million contract with the Cowboys, making him the 15th highest-paid left guard in the league with an average annual salary of $5.6 million.
Will Tyler Booker play left or right guard?
Tyler Booker spent most of his college career at Alabama playing left guard. However, due to a lack of depth on the opposite side of the line, the Cowboys may ask him to switch to right guard.
On the team’s depth chart, Tyler Smith is currently listed as the starting left guard, while Booker is slotted on the right. This offseason, the coaching staff will evaluate whether the rookie can successfully transition and fill that need on the offensive line.
