Chivas‘ perfect start in the 2026 Clausura tournament has come to an end. In an astonishing game in Matchday 7 in Liga MX, Cruz Azul were able to secure a huge 2-1 victory over the Rojiblancos to get the three points at home.
Gabriel Fernandez gave Cruz Azul the early lead with a brilliant goal in the first half, putting his team momentarily ahead. Chivas bounced back in the second half, and Angel Sepulveda scored a superb header to level the score with just 10 minutes remaining.
But Cruz Azul wasn’t done. In the final five minutes of regular time, Carlos Rodriguez capitalized on a cross and headed home the winner, securing a 2-1 victory. The result ends Chivas’ perfect 6-0-0 start and moves Cruz Azul into second place in the standings.
