Uruguay snatched a dramatic 1-1 draw against England at Wembley Stadium, with Federico Valverde converting a last-minute penalty to stun the home crowd in a thrilling finish.

The first half was a tactical stalemate with few clear-cut scoring opportunities. England dominated possession for nearly the entire 45 minutes, but they were unable to penetrate a remarkably disciplined and solid Uruguayan defense.

In the second half, Thomas Tuchel made several tactical adjustments to break the deadlock, and his changes eventually paid off. Following a pinpoint corner from Cole Palmer, defender Ben White found himself unmarked in the box and tapped the ball home to give the Three Lions a 1-0 lead.

However, just as England appeared set to celebrate a narrow victory, disaster struck for the goalscorer. Ben White went from hero to villain, committing a foul on Federico Viñas inside the box in the dying moments. Uruguay‘s captain, Federico Valverde, stepped up to the spot and clinically dispatched the penalty to rescue a draw for La Celeste.
