What a difference a handful of games make, for Manchester United what started out as a promising Premier League season has quickly turned sour and it has manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer worried.

Manchester United has now dropped four games in their last seven, and now sit sixth in the Premier League standings, 5 points back of leaders Chelsea. After the performance against Leicester City which saw the Red Devils lose 4-2 in the final moments, Solskjaer did not pull any punches and called out his players.

In a heated press conference, the former Manchester United striker called out his team for their poor run of form, “Lately we have not been in great form – lost too many points and that is something we have to look at.” Now it looks like Solskjaer may make wholesale changes as Manchester United gets ready for their Champions League clash against Italian side Atalanta.

The Manchester United players arrived to training today in what The Sun called “faces of glum.” And if you take into account what Solskjaer said in the press conferencechanges are coming to the Manchester United lineup, “Lately we have not been in great form – lost too many points and that is something we have to look at…We might have to change – do we need more legs in there? What do we need?”

Nonetheless the manager has not made any excuses for United’s drop in form, “I am not making excuses for the team I put out there – they are top footballers and we have not produced.” Players like Fred and Edinson Cavani were not in the squad for the Leicester City, but the manager pointed out that they might get their opportunity. “I have got many good players – Fred, Edinson Cavani, you miss them” Solskjaer stated.

Now the Red Devils turn their attention to Champions League action where they sit third in Group F one point behind Atalanta in a massive game to gain confidence.
