Novak Djokovic continues his steady progress at Roland Garros, where he has yet to drop a set. The Serbian defeated Filip Misolic to advance to the fourth round, equaling an impressive personal Grand Slam record.

The Grand Slam’s all-time leader faced little trouble in the third round against the Austrian, defeating him 6-3, 6-4, 6-2. Djokovic now faces Cameron Norrie in the round of 16.

By reaching the fourth round of Roland Garros, Djokovic achieved his 99th match win at the major, matching his best record at a single Grand Slam tournament—a feat he has also accomplished at the Australian Open.

Additionally, the victory ensured that Djokovic has reached the round of 16 in at least two Grand Slam men’s singles events across 20 seasons, equaling the record previously set by Roger Federer.

Djokovic on reaching 100 wins

The Serbian will face Norrie in the round of 16, aiming for his 100th Grand Slam win. He expressed feeling privileged to be making history in the sport. “Ninety-nine is good, but 100 is better. I hope I’ll get more,” Djokovic said after the match.

I’m at a point in my career and life where I feel very privileged because every time I step on the court, I’m playing for the history books. It’s incredible,” he continued.

Djokovic on playing night sessions

The match against Misolic marked Djokovic’s first night session of the season. He noted that playing late isn’t easy due to the anticipation and anxiety of waiting to compete.

It was the first night session this year for me. Night sessions are different. Waiting all day to play isn’t easy because there’s anticipation, you’re very tense, you have to prepare for the match,” he explained. “Last year I played a few night sessions – one incredible one against Lorenzo Musetti that finished at 3 a.m. Tonight I was just hoping it wouldn’t finish after 3 a.m.!”
