Itās not so usual to hear BYUās name being called when we talk about the college basketball powerhouses. However, thatās going to be a different story in the upcoming season.
Notably, thatās because theyāve gotten their hands on one of the highest-ranked prospects weāve seen in a while, and everybody will be keeping tabs on the AJ Dybantsa show.
Dybantsa is projected as an early candidate to be the first-overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. However, before that, he wants to lead the Cougars all the way and win a national championship.
AJ Dybantsa is going for the big prize
āI think we all have one goal in mind, just to win a national championship, thereās nothing less,ā Dybantsa said. āWe made it to the Sweet 16 last year in [Kevin Youngās] first year of coaching, so I mean, weāre intended to go farther.ā

At the end of the day, it takes much more than just a player to get the job done. In fact, teams led by freshmen rarely go the distance. However, there are always exceptions to that rule.
Dybantsa is clearly a unique type of player, and weāve seen some elite talents lead small programs all the way in the past. Hopefully, that will be the case with Kevin Youngās team next season.
