The Combine is currently underway, with top prospects aiming to impress franchises ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. Dillon Gabriel is vying for a high first-round pick, and with his impending selection on the horizon, the Oregon Ducks‘ star quarterback issued a clear warning to NFL teams.
Gabriel is part of a talented group of quarterbacks who are expected to be the future stars of the league. To land with a strong team, the former pupil of Dan Lanning knows he has what it takes, but made it clear to any team interested in his services that he’s not just for anyone.
“I’m not for everyone,” Gabriel told CBS Sports at the NFL Combine. “Teams that I just don’t wanna be on in that case anyways. I think alignment is so important, from coaches, players, to ownership. For me, every team that I’ve met with that I feel really good about have voiced to me they don’t give a rip about it. They value me for the right things, and that’s decision making, efficiency, accuracy, all things that translate.”
Last season, Gabriel was part of the only team to finish undefeated in the regular season of the NCAAF, the Oregon Ducks. Much of this success was undoubtedly due to the impressive statistics the quarterback posted throughout the year.

Dillon Gabriel #8 of the Oregon Ducks scrambles with the ball during the Rose Bowl game against the Ohio State Buckeyes at Rose Bowl Stadium on January 01, 2025 in Pasadena, California.
The former Oklahoma and UFC player finished with numbers worthy of a high draft pick: he threw for 3,857 yards, 30 touchdowns, and just six interceptions, while also adding 149 rushing yards and seven more touchdowns.

Gabriel’s confidence heading into the NFL
Dillon Gabriel has shown immense confidence in his ability to transition to the NFL, backed by his standout college career. With his impressive stats and leadership on the field, he believes he’s ready to take the next step.
Much has been said about Gabriel’s height and the potential challenges it could pose for the quarterback as he makes this leap in his career. However, the player is fully aware of the talent he possesses and trusts in his abilities to quickly adapt to this change.
“I’ve had the most experience ever, as you can imagine, starting in high school as a freshman all the way into my senior year on varsity, and then I’ve done the same thing in college,” the QB said. “I’m a leader. I’m a winner. I’ve won at all three spots, and I’ve done it in big games.”
“If a team wants a winner, a franchise leader, they know who to call,” he finally concluded.
Where could Gabriel land?
While there are many speculations about where Dillon Gabriel could land in the upcoming NFL Draft, the real answers will come at the end of April when the time to select the player arrives.
At this point, the quarterback has already had meetings with several teams, with the Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders standing out. While the situation for both franchises is very different regarding the need for a QB, Gabriel appears as a potential candidate to join either of these rosters.
