Aaron Judge remains one of the few New York Yankees players enjoying a strong stretch this season, even as the team continues to experience its ups and downs. But the Yankees captain has clearly taken notice of the rough patch Anthony Volpe is going through.
Judge kept his message to Volpe short and direct, saying: “Keep going. You’ve been there before.” He also expressed full confidence that Volpe will bounce back, adding that everyone in the organization continues to believe in him.
Despite his recent struggles at the plate, Volpe showed a spark by hitting a home run in the Yankees’ win over the Orioles — snapping a brutal 0-for-25 slump. That long-awaited homer was his second of the month, with the first coming back on June 6 against the Red Sox.
Boone backing Volpe too
Judge isn’t the only one monitoring Volpe’s situation. Yankees manager Aaron Boone has also shown his support, noting that Volpe’s issues stem mostly from timing at the plate.
“I don’t think that’s the case — it’s as simple as being a little off timing-wise, and therefore not getting off good swings. That’s more what we’ve seen the last three or four days, compared to the earlier part,” Boone said about Volpe’s recent at-bats. Volpe was given the day off on Sunday, June 22, to regroup.

A special night against the Orioles
The game against Baltimore wasn’t just significant for ending Volpe’s hitless streak — it also marked the first time this year he recorded three hits in a game at Yankee Stadium. He had previously accomplished that feat on the road, doing so against the Rockies and Pirates.
