Aaron Judge, Cody Bellinger, and Jasson Dominguez quietly help Yankees make franchise history

In one of those rare midseason records that surface during a long MLB year, Aaron Judge, Cody Bellinger, and Jasson Domínguez helped the New York Yankees set a new franchise mark — one that won’t be easy to break.

Aaron Judge continues to shine in a season that’s been challenging at times for the New York Yankees, but alongside key teammates, he’s helped keep the team competitive — and this time, he, Cody Bellinger, and Jasson Domínguez just made franchise history in the Bronx.

For the first time in the Yankees’ storied history, three different players have each recorded a three-home-run game in the same season. The milestone includes performances from Judge, Domínguez, and Bellinger, each going deep three times in separate games on March 29, May 9, and July 11.

Judge kicked off the trio’s achievement back in March with a three-homer night against the Brewers, part of a 20–9 blowout win in just the second game of the season. That game featured nine total homers from the Yankees and shattered several early-season records.

Bellinger and Domínguez delivering power as well

Jasson Domínguez became the second Yankee to join the list when he hit three home runs on May 9 against the Athletics in another statement win. Like Judge, Domínguez’s three-homer game came in a series the Yankees ended up winning.

Now, Cody Bellinger has added his name to the list after going deep three times in a victory over the Cubs on July 11. The veteran slugger now has 16 home runs this season — and is on pace to surpass the 18 he hit last year with the Cubs, the team he spent two seasons with after leaving the Dodgers.

Judge in the thick of the home run race

Aaron Judge is still chasing the top spot in the MLB home run leaderboard. He currently sits at 34 homers, four behind league-leader Cal Raleigh, who has 38. With half the season still to go, many expect Judge to close the gap and potentially take over the lead in the coming weeks.
