Death, taxes, and Clayton Kershaw struggles in the postseason. Just when it seemed like the superstar pitcher had it together for the Los Angeles Dodgers, the old playoff woes knocked on the southpaw’s door once again.
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves were tied at one through five innings, with Kershaw looking like his usual, dominant self. He was in control and that extra day of rest clearly helped him ahead of his outing.
Then, the good-old Kershaw showed up. Ronald Acuña Jr hit an infield single, Freddie Freeman drove him home with a double, followed by another double by Marcell Ozuna until manager Dave Roberts finally pulled him out of the game.
Fast-forward to the end of the inning and the Dodgers had their backs against the wall by trailing 7-1 in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series and are now on the verge of being sent back home.
Needless to say, the internet was once again ruthless to Kershaw, who’s proven over and over that he’s one of the most dominant and reliable regular-season pitchers of all time but that simply can’t get it together when it matters the most.
Countless memes and hilarious reactions flooded social media to make fun of Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers, who made it to the postseason as the team to beat. Check out some of the best here.

The Dodgers traded for Mookie Betts and had the best record in the regular season. They were the most overpowered and hyped team in baseball all year long, yet they can’t seem to learn from their past mistakes.
As for Kershaw, he’s definitely put together a Hall of Fame-worthy résumé but his never-ending woes in the postseason will forever put a stain on an otherwise flawless career in Major League Baseball.
