Trent Grisham proved to be a highly productive player in a recent New York Yankees game against the Diamondbacks. Although the team lost the series, Grisham seized the opportunity to showcase his form and made a bold declaration about his goals for the season.

After helping the Yankees secure a win against the Diamondbacks, the center fielder spoke with determination, stating, “My job is to be ready every day, no matter if it’s off the bench or if I’m starting that day.” Acknowledging his lack of a guaranteed spot in the starting lineup, Grisham emphasized his readiness to contribute in any capacity.

In his latest outing, Grisham outperformed several regular starters. He posted a .500 batting average with a .583 on-base percentage, along with 3 RBIs, 3 hits, 1 run, and a home run that gave the Yankees a much-needed boost, extending their lead to 6-1 over the Diamondbacks.

Grisham has already played five games for the Yankees in the 2025 MLB season, and he’s performed well enough to earn more trust from manager Aaron Boone. Boone has given him opportunities to cover center field when needed, and through those five games, Grisham has posted an impressive 1.483 OPS—especially noteworthy for someone who isn’t considered one of the team’s marquee players.

Grisham’s 2025 Projection

According to Baseball Reference, 2025 could be a solid season for Grisham. He’s projected to have over 360 plate appearances, significantly surpassing the 209 he had last year. He’s also expected to contribute with 41 runs while maintaining a batting average of at least .209 for the current season.
