We’re going to say the obvious when we say that even though he’s one of the greatest and most successful players of all time, not everybody around the sports community is exactly fond of LeBron James.

Ever since he made it to the leagueas the first overall pick of the 2003 NBA Draft, James has been a polarizing and controversial figure, with half of the people rooting for him and the other half looking down on his achievements.

That’s why it didn’t come as a surprise when we saw former Golden State Warriors player Marreese Speights take a huge shot at The King on his Twitter account in the aftermath of his 4th NBA Championship.

Former Warriors Player Marreese Speights Rips LeBron James On Twitter

The 2015 NBA Champion took it to his Twitter account to post a pic that read “Back then, we used to celebrate three-peats. Now kids are out there celebrating four titles in ten tries and call it greatness”, followed by the caption “just the messenger”.

Needless to say, there were countless reactions in favor and against what Speights posted, up to the point where the former Warriors big man actuallyhad to delete the tweet just a couple of hours after posting it.

LeBron James led the team that took down the 2016 Golden State Warriors after breaking the record for most regular-season wins (73). That year, the Cleveland Cavaliers became the first team to ever come back from a 3-1 deficit.

James reportedly made fun of the Warriors for blowing that lead during next year’s Halloween party, so it’s pretty safe to assume that there’s a lot of bad blood between that team and the 35-year-old. Then again, considering Speights hasn’t even played in the NBA since 2018, he’s not likely to come up on top of this fight.
