The Dallas Mavericks take on the Charlotte Hornets in the 2025 NBA Summer League, a matchup that showcases future prospects and potential rotation pieces for the upcoming season. One of the most anticipated names entering the tournament was Cooper Flagg—but will the No. 1 overall pick be available today?

The Mavericks are coming off a high-profile matchup against the San Antonio Spurs, where the top two picks of the 2025 NBA Draft went head-to-head. Flagg delivered an impressive performance for Dallas, putting up 31 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist. On the other side, Spurs rookie Dylan Harper contributed 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists to help San Antonio secure a 76-69 victory.

Earlier in the tournament, Flagg made his professional debut against Bronny James and the Los Angeles Lakers. With both rookies carrying considerable hype, their first clash drew widespread attention. However, neither Flagg nor James stood out significantly in that contest.

Flagg shot 10-for-21 from the field in Saturday’s outing, bouncing back from a rough Summer League debut against the Lakers in which he went 5-for-21 and scored just 10 points.

What did Flagg say after the Spurs game?

ā€œI think it’s a new environment, a new stage,ā€ Flagg said after the 76-69 loss to San Antonio. ā€œThey want to see me be aggressive and do those kinds of things. I think I did a much better job today—just getting to the line, drawing fouls. That helped me get comfortable early.ā€ Still, Flagg wasn’t satisfied with everything. ā€œI missed a bunch of free throws,ā€ he added. ā€œI know my mom probably wasn’t very happy with that.ā€
