Bill Simmons of The Ringer recently claimed that James Harden will veto any trade to the Golden State Warriors and revealed why he doesn't want to join them.

James Harden has let it pretty clear that he wants to get out of the Houston Rockets as soon as possible. He hasn’t shownup to their training camp yet despite being in town, and he wants to be traded away from the team.

And even though he reportedly wants to join Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and the Brooklyn Nets; the Rockets don’t have to cave into his demands and could trade him away to the team that has the better offer on the table.

That’s why he’s also been tied with a move to the Philadelphia 76ers and even theGolden State Warriors. However, Bill Simmons of The Ringer explained why he’d never want to join Stephen Curry at San Francisco.

Bill Simmons Says James Harden Will Veto A Trade To The Warriors

“Here’s the problem if you’re Harden — you’re not winning the title if they do that, because Klay Thompson is out for the year,” Simmons said. “So you’re going to play with Steph Curry and Draymond Green and you’re not gonna win the title. You’re in the same spot you are now. So he’ll veto that (
) with no Klay Thompson, he’s not talking himself into that,” Simmons explained.

Bill Simmons has a valid point here, although if you look at the bigger picture, a Big 3 of James Harden, Stephen Curry, and Draymond Green would be more than enough to pursue an NBA Championship.

Also, it’s not like Klay Thompson will be out forever. He’ll come back next season and their title window would still be wide open. In fact, he may have a bigger shot at winning a ring with a core of players that have already done it than joining two incredibly talented guys that are yet to prove that they can play together.

At the end of the day, the Rockets will do whatever they believebest for the organization, and after landing John Wall on a blockbuster trade for Russell Westbrook, it seems unlikely that they’ll just trade The Beard away right now.
