The Boston Celtics started the 2024-25 season with high expectations but were knocked out by the New York Knicks in the conference semifinals. The problems continued as Jayson Tatum injured his Achilles tendon and will miss a lot of games of the 2025-26 season. As weeks passed, the Celtics’ executive Brad Stevens offered a brief update on Tatum‘s recovery, giving fans a sense of hope.

He seems to be doing really well. Rehabbing’s hard. Anyone who’s been through a long injury and a long recovery, it’s just a challenge. Mental challenge, physical challenge, obviously. But he got the surgery right away, and from that point on, his mindset was, ‘We’re going after this thing and trying to get better’,” Brad Stevens confessed, via NBA TV.

Jayson Tatum’s recovery remains a priority, as confirmed by team’s executive Brad Stevens, who noted that the superstar has been diligently working on his rehab in Boston for the past 50 days, bypassing any vacation time. This commitment fuels optimism among fans who eagerly anticipate Tatum’s possible early return in the 2025-26 season, where he is expected to bolster the offense alongside Jaylen Brown.

However, the departures of Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis, and Al Horford have left a significant gap, prompting fans to clamor for new talent. The franchise remains focused on retaining its core stars, Tatum and Brown, while maneuvering to reduce the salary cap. Although the team may not make any major acquisitions, they could aim to fill the roster with budget-friendly players to maintain competitiveness.
