It’s pretty clear that LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are still living a dream. They’re coming off winning their league-high 17th NBA championship and have only gotten better since the offseason began.
The Lakers know that the rest of the league is trying to challenge them and knock their crown off, and that’s why they’ve been so active and aggressive in free-agency to try and win back-to-back rings.
That’s why LeBron James was so ecstatic to discuss the status of his team and the newcomers with Richard Jefferson and Allie Cliffton during an interview for Spectrum’s Road Trippin’.
LeBron James Addresses All The Los Angeles Lakers’ Additions
“I’m happy as hell to have big Marc Gasol (…) Marc has my Defensive Player of the Year trophy at his house, but that’s nor here nor there. I love you, Marc, I can’t wait to talk about this,” LeBron started.

Then, The King opened up about the shocking addition of Montrezl Harrell, who no one ever thought was just going to switch sides and leave the Los Angeles Clippers for their next-door neighbors:
“He was our next-door neighbor. we knocked and said ‘you like what’s going on over here?. Including some of his teammates (were shocked that the Lakers signed him). They actually put that on social media, I’m not making it up. We got Trez, who, sixth man of the year award winner who’sgonna help our bench,” James continued.
LeBron went on to talk about Wesley Matthews Jr, whose father played for the organization and whose expected to slide into the starting lineup to replace Danny Green and his 3-and-D expertise:

“We got Wesley Matthews who I love to compete with and his father is a former Laker as well so we got two guys who havefamily Laker ties,“ LeBron added, also referring to Marc Gasol’s brother Pau.
And last but not least, James discussed the addition of Dennis Schroder, raving about the energy and fierceness he brings to the table and how much he loves to get under his rivals’ skin:

“And then we got the runner-up for Sixth Man of the Year award in Dennis Schroder who I call his nickname – I don’t know if he likes it or not – we haven’t had that conversation but he’s ‘Dennis the Menace’ because I love what he brings to the game, his tenacity. He’s a dog, he gets under your skin. He’s a Richard Jefferson, Draymond Green type of guy where if he’s your teammate, you love the sh*t out of him and if he’s not, you can’t f*cking stand him,” James concluded.
The Lakers added a nice veteran core to an already impressive roster. It’s only a matter of time before Anthony Davis resigns with the team and that’s a scary thought for the rest of the league. As of today, it seems like the ring is theirs to lose.
