LeBron James‘ future with the Los Angeles Lakers is one of the biggest topics in the NBA this week, and <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/golden-state-warriors">Golden State Warriors</a> star Draymond Green has now joined the conversation.

“I think the Lakers, they really got to decide what it is they want to do. Like, are you comfortable going into next season with pretty much the same supporting cast that you have? Speaking to the media after the loss to the Denver Nuggets in Game 5, AD made it clear he’ll do whatever he can to try and keep LeBron with the purple and gold. “If he asks my opinion or whenever we talk about it, I’m obviously going to try and recruit him back,” Davis said about James, via Give Me Sport. “Ultimately, he’s old enough where he’s going to make a decision, whatever is best for him and his family. Knowing that his time is limited in this league… His goal is obviously to win and I feel like we can do that here.“

“During the 13-game skid, the Lakers used six starting lineups, including two variations of an all-wing lineup — James, Davis, Taurean Prince, Vanderbilt and either Cam Reddish or Hachimura — for five games (the team went 2-3). The decision to bench both Reaves and Russell, the team’s consensus third- and fourth-best players, did not sit well with many within the organization and locker room, according to team and league sources.“



The purple and gold went through a rough patch between December and January, which is why Ham tried different lineups that included benching Reaves and Russell. The team, however, only took off when they were back in the starting five, and the franchise reportedly felt it lost time by playing some games with them on the bench.

In his ESPN show, Smith said that Booker’s alleged interest in “New York” was something he heard from “the NBA circles” but warned that he never talked about it with the player.

<h2>Booker wants a ring, but doesn’t look desperate</h2>



Booker, who turns 28 in October, is under contract with the Suns through the 2027-28 season on a deal that sees his salary increase annually. Phoenix has been the only team in Booker’s career since he entered the league in 2015.

This is far from a surprise. Ham looked over his head more often than not, and his players constantly snubbed his instructions. Even LeBron James cussed him after deciding not to challenge a call in Game 4:

George is one of the best players still without a ring, and while money could be tricky and they would most likely have to do a sign-and-trade, he could be the two-way star this team craves.

Likewise, Klay Thompson’s free agency is a complicated situation. He could leave the Golden State Warriors if he feels disrespected by their offer, paving the way for a potential sign-and-trade.



While no longer the star he once was, he’s still one of the greatest three-point shooters this game has ever seen, and the Lakers desperately need to spread the floor. His father Mychal played for the Showtime Lakers, and he’s always been tied to the organization.



<h2>Trae Young</h2>



The Atlanta Hawks are reportedly open to moving on from Trae Young. He’s reportedly rubbed some people the wrong way, and it’s become painfully evident that he cannot coexist with Dejounte Murray in the back court.



He’s a Klutch Sports client, just like LeBron and Davis. And while his fit next to them might not be the best, the Lakers have always been known for targetting big-name players. Also, they could make numbers work with a trade instead of trying to outbid someone else in free agency.

James has posted solid numbers, and it’s evident that he’s still in great shape. He could still play for a championship contender, provided that the numbers work and that said contender doesn’t have to rebuild or retool the roster around him.



However, he might not be interested in that again. Just like last season after being swept, the soon-to-be 40-year-old teased retirement after being eliminated by the Denver Nuggets.

James then talked about not having anything left to prove at this point in his career. He’s accomplished everything, owning countless records and winning almost every award:



“That s— is important too,” added LeBron. “What more [is left]? I’ve done everything I can do. There’s nothing I haven’t accomplished in this league that I’ve wanted to accomplish. So like at some point you got to [hang it up].”



<h2>Will LeBron James Retire?</h2>



Truth be told, he’s right on point. He’s one of the few players who doesn’t have anything else to prove. He’s already the GOAT to some, and he’ll never reach that distinction for those he hasn’t convinced yet.



Then again, he’s just not going to walk away from the game. He did the same thing after getting swept last season, and it’s all about controlling the narrative and getting people to talk about something other than his team’s shortcomings.
