One of the teams that faced significant struggles following the February trade deadline was the Dallas Mavericks. After Luka Doncicās departure, the team endured a rough patch despite acquiring a standout player like Anthony Davis. Unfortunately, Davis suffered an early injury that forced head coach Jason Kidd to adjust his game plan.
That wasnāt the only setback. In recent weeks, the Mavericks have dealt with several major injuries, including one to Kyrie Irving, who had been leading the team alongside Klay Thompson in the absence of Davis and Doncic. Additionally, Caleb Martin, Jaden Hardy, and Kai Jones have also been sidelined.
However, thereās finally some positive news regarding Davisā recovery. According to Mavericks insider Joey Mistretta, Davis has been assigned to the Mavericksā G League affiliate, signaling encouraging progress in his rehabilitation.
This development suggests Davis could be on track for a faster-than-expected return. Initially, the medical report indicated he would miss the remainder of the regular season. However, with ample time remaining on the schedule, his stint with the G League squad could pave the way for an earlier comeback, depending on how his recovery progresses.
