However, his recent comments have sparked controversy. NBA Legend Magic Johnson answered him in a forceful manner.
Magic Johnson recently fired back at Anthony Edwards after the young star claimed that no one in the history of the league jumps like he does. The bold statement did not sit well with Johnson.
âDonât attack all the old-school guys when you havenât done your homework. First of allâMichael Jordan, Kobe Bryant., Dr. J. Clyde Drexler, David Thompson, even before all of them! They could all fly. So slow down, bro. Slow down,â stated Johnson.
Even, Magic Johnson recently delivered a bold message to Anthony Edwards about his NBA legacy: âThatâs why I had to hit him with the reality check. I said, âLook, man, talk to me when youâve won something.â You show respect. Thatâs allâjust show respect. I donât go at nobody. Thatâs not who I am. But if you attack us, like, âOh, the game wasnât exciting back then,â then I gotta come back at you,â he added.

Despite the controversy surrounding him, Anthony Edwards is having an impressive season with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He is averaging 27.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.6 assists over 58 games.
Edwards has established himself as the offensive leader of the franchise. His strong performance earned him a starting spot in the 2025 NBA All-Star Game. He will represent the Western Conference alongside some of the leagueâs best players.
