Stephen Curry fires back at Damian Lillard comparisons

Damian Lillard is on a whole different level right now. Even so, Stephen Curry didn't care for TNT's Kenny Smith comments about Dame being a better shooter than him.

Damian Lillard has putthe world on notice since the restart of the NBA season the same way Stephen Curry did 5 years ago. He led the Portland Trail Blazers to 7 wins in 9 games and kept his foot on the gas to upset the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 1 of the first round of the playoffs.

Lillard is getting a lot of praise and recognition around the league and for very good reasons. However, it feels like the most impressive part of his offensive breakout is his unlimited range as a three-point shooter.

Damian Lillard is pulling up from beyond 30-feet and consistently knocking down those kinds of shots, something we had only seen Stephen Curry do before. Needless to say, that fueled some takes about Lillard having a better range than the Splash Brother.

Kenny Smith Said Damian Lillard Has More Range Than Stephen Curry

That’s why TNT’s Kenny Smith went as far as to claim that he’s not sure that Curry has that kind of range anymore, stating that it should be called ‘Dame Range’ now instead of ‘Curry Range’. That comment didn’t go unnoticed.

It didn’t take long before Smith’s comments were all over the internet, so the 2-time MVP didn’t hesitate to take his thoughts to Twitter to try and protect his reputation as the biggest long-range threat in the history of the game. “I love you Kenny but you’re trippin’ right now,” he said.

Even so, Smith clapped back at Curry and his injury-riddled season by stating that it’s been so long since he hit that kind of shot that he forgot what he’s capable of. Not cool man, not cool at all.

Damian Lillard is dominating opposing defenses at will and deserves all the credit for it. He’s a unique talent that plays at his own pace and dominates in his own way. Let’s just enjoy greatness, there’s no need to compare.
