George Kittle is known for two things. One, he is one of the best tight ends in the NFL. Two, he might be the funniest player in the league. After the San Francisco 49ers extended the contract of Brock Purdy for 5 years and a whopping $265 million, Kittle had to deliver one of his funniest bits in a while.
The Niners star appeared as a guest on the Pat McAfee Show where he discussed many things regarding football. The quarterback’s contract was touched upon, and Kittle answered in the most ‘Kittle Way’ ever. “He’s buying everything from here on out. Hopefully he pays for the Halloween party this year and it’s not me and [Kyle Juszczyk] anymore. $265 [million] can put together a better one.”
Apparently, Purdy is not getting away with not paying for stuff anymore. He went from being one of the lowest-paid NFL players (due to being Mr. Irrelevant) to the seventh-highest paid QB in the league.
Aside from the jokes, the Niners need to ball
The 2025 season was a complete nightmare for the 49ers. They ended with a division-low record of 6-11. By Week 7, San Francisco lost two key players on offense like wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and running back Christian McCaffrey. It’s time to bounce back.

Brock Purdy #13 of the San Francisco 49ers celebrates after a touchdown by Jordan Mason #24 during the fourth quarter against the Dallas Cowboys at Levi’s Stadium on October 08, 2023 in Santa Clara, California.
Purdy ended up with 15 games played, 3,864 yards and threw 20 touchdown passes to 12 interceptions. Statistically is not the best season Purdy’s had, but the injuries the team suffered gave him a pass.

Now, with the team healthy, the Niners should once again contend to be one of the best teams in the NFC. Purdy will have great weapons around him. Not only are Kittle, Aiyuk and McCaffrey back, but the team is waiting for second-year wideout Ricky Pearsall to take a step up and Jauan Jennings is still one of the most underrated receivers in the league.
The 49ers window is about to close
According to Spotrac.com, no team has more dead cap than the Niners for this season. They sit at $91 million of dead money. Based on projections, by 2027, San Francisco will have the third least cap space in the league.
Seeing this, and looking at the roster they’ve assembled, it’s now or never for the Bay team. After that, it’s rebuilding time since many players will either leave or be past their primes. It’s the natural cycle of the NFL, you have to take the opportunities and the Niners know that.
