The 2024 season was great for the Denver Broncos—but not enough. Now, a star teammate of Bo Nix has sent a strong warning to the entire NFL about what to expect from them in 2025.

Last offseason, the Broncos made a bold move by selecting Bo Nix in the first round of the NFL Draft. The quarterback was considered one of the top prospects at his position, and he certainly lived up to the hype.

Nix led Denver to the playoffs for the first time in 10 years. However, the job isn’t finished. Both the quarterback and his teammates believe the sky’s the limit for what they can accomplish moving forward.

Winning the 2024 NFL Defensive Player of the Year award was a huge accolade for Surtain. But he believes there’s still one major piece missing from his trophy case: the Super Bowl.

“What can I do for an encore?’’ Surtain said, via Mike Klis of 9News. “Shoot, I think a Super Bowl would be an encore.’’

Fortunately for him, the Broncos made two key acquisitions this offseason that could boost their chances of reaching that goal. The team signed safety Talanoa Hufanga and inside linebacker Dre Greenlaw—both former 49ers—who could help elevate the defense to an elite level.

When was the last time the Broncos won the Super Bowl?

The last time the Denver Broncos won the Super Bowl was in the 2015 season, when they defeated the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50. Led by a dominant defense and veteran quarterback Peyton Manning, the Broncos secured a 24-10 victory on February 7, 2016.

That championship marked the franchise’s third Super Bowl title, with previous wins in the 1997 and 1998 seasons. Since then, Denver has struggled to return to that level—until now, with young stars like Bo Nix and Patrick Surtain aiming to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Mile High.
