The free agency market has already started, and the Denver Broncos have signed one of Trevor Lawrence’s former teammates to help Bo Nix achieve success in the 2025 NFL season.
Last year, the Broncos used their first-round pick to select Bo Nix. Despite many doubts about the former Oregon star, he was determined to silence his critics and prove himself with Denver.
Fortunately for him, he had an outstanding rookie campaign. Nix led the Broncos to the playoffs for the first time since their 2015 Super Bowl run. However, the club recognizes that he needs more weapons around him to reach his full potential.

Head coach Sean Payton knows that, despite Nix’s impressive performance, the roster needs to be bolstered to ensure his continued success. To that end, Payton has added a new weapon to the offense for the 2025 season.
On Wednesday, the Broncos signed Evan Engram to a two-year, $23 million deal. The tight end was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, marking the departure of a key piece of Trevor Lawrence’s offense.
The 30-year-old tight end had a strong tenure with the Jaguars and was seen as a crucial weapon for Lawrence. However, his recent injury issues led the team to release him and clear $6.04 million in cap space.

Evan Engram #17 of the Jacksonville Jaguars runs after a catch in the fourth quarter of a game against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on November 03, 2024 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The tight end position was a priority for Payton, as the Broncos lacked an elite player in that role. Engram’s arrival is expected to be a major boost for Bo Nix as the team heads into the 2025 campaign.
Why did the Jaguars release Evan Engram?
During the 2024 NFL season, Evan Engram struggled to stay healthy. Despite an impressive career, his age became a factor in limiting his playtime with the Jaguars.
