On Friday’s training camp session, the Cleveland Browns saw one of Shedeur Sanders‘ teammates go down with an injury. He didn’t return to practice as all the quarterbacks involved in the battle for being the starter shook their heads. Now, head coach Kevin Stefanski has given an update on the situation.
Speaking to multiple reporters, Stefanski said the Browns “dodged a bullet” regarding wide receiver Cedric Tillman’s injury. It seems like Tillman will be out for a bit but should be ready to roll for Week 1.
Tillman is poised to have plenty of involvement on this offense. He will serve as the number 2 receiver on the depth chart behind Jerry Jeudy, so having him available is key for the Browns.
Tillman has big-time potential
Tillman is entering his third year and he showed glimpses of talent. Now, it seems like the team trusts him to take a major leap in form. In 2024, Tillman started only six of 11 games he played, but he got 339 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Cedric Tillman #19 of the Cleveland Browns takes the field prior to the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Huntington Bank Field on November 21, 2024 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Now, it’s all set for him to become a solid starter for this team. Whether it’s Shedeur Sanders or someone else, Tillman will be key for the team to produce the goods by air.

Tillman is not the only injured player on offense
Unfortunately, Cleveland is also having other injury issues. Guard Teven Jenkins and running back Jerome Ford haven’t been practicing. However, if something good comes out of it is that Stefanski thinks they are both close to being back in training.
Injuries are not the only thing concerning the Browns, as second-round pick running back Quishon Judkins is the only player selected on the NFL Draft to remain unsigned. Judkins is currently dealing with legal issues outside of football.
