The home jersey is a silhouette of a bear’s head that is generated by a 3-D effect. The idea of the jersey is to intimidate, and these jerseys do just that when you see a ferocious looking bear coming right at you. The jersey has the club’s classic colors of navy blue and burnt orange.
The heritage of the club is present as well, with the year the team was founded on the neck, 1920, and the team’s nickname “Da Bears” on the bottom in the front. “Da Bears” became a popular term in pop culture when on Saturday Night Live the sketch “Bill Swerski’s Superfans” became recurring on the show.
The Chicago Bears soccer crest.
The Bears logo took its inspiration from English Premier League club, Leicester City. Leicester City is known as “The Foxes” and has a fox present in their crest, in this case, we placed a Bears head and Chicago Bears in a circular crest. The year the team was founded is present as well and gives the crest an old school soccer feel to it.
“Da Bears” became a popular nickname when SNL did a sketch about Bears fans.
As mentioned before, the sketch on SNL about Chicago sports fans ran from 1991 to 1992, and the characters from the skit have made various appearances since. The sketch is famous for the Inland North dialect of American English that is in Chicago, most famously through the distinctive pronunciation of the phrase “Da Bears”.

The away jersey is a reference to the bear claws, and it pays homage to the club’s nickname “The Monsters”. In 1985 the “Monsters of the Midway” won the Super Bowl. The team had several personalities like Walter Payton and Jim McMahon. The team ran the 46, a play that was designed to get to the quarterback and crush the opponent’s offense.
The 1985 Bears defense was ranked first in the NFL in points allowed and yards allowed. Richard Dent led the league in sacks and linebacker Mike Singletary won the Defensive Player of the Year Award. Both players went on to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, as we as Walter Payton, defensive end Dan Hampton, and coach Mike Ditka.
