If we’re talking about the undeniable surprise teams of last NFL season, the Detroit Lions absolutely have to be in the conversation. Dan Campbell’s squad finished atop the NFC North, showcasing grit and growth all year long. But their Super Bowl dreams came to a crushing halt at Ford Field, following a tough loss to the Commanders. The big question now is: can they finally get over the hump this season?

The veteran head coach knows that one of the main reasons he accepted the challenge of joining this franchise years ago was to bring a Vince Lombardi Trophy to this city for the very first time.

During a recent conversation with the media, Campbell spoke about his desire to win a Super Bowl with this team and how comfortable he feels leading the Lions from the sideline.

“Man, it’s a blessing. I’m fortunate. I love the gig I’m at, and I have no plans of leaving. But we’ve got to win one (Super Bowl), man. We’ve got to win one, and then once you do that, see if you can win another one, but that’s the goal, to win a Super Bowl,” he said on 96.7 AM The Ticket.

His relationship with Lions owner Sheila Ford Hamp couldn’t be in better terms, and it was the head coach himself who revealed that they have provided him with everything necessary to carry out his job in the most comfortable way possible.

Campbell said Hamp told him, “Whatever we need from a resources standpoint, I’ll do. I just want you to do it and be yourself.”
