Deebo Samuel has officially closed the chapter on his time with the San Francisco 49ers, where he spent his entire professional career until 2024. Unfortunately, his final season with the team ended in a tough downturn. Now, he’s poised to make a significant impact on the Washington Commanders’ offense alongside quarterback Jayden Daniels.

In his latest remarks, Samuel expressed confidence in the Commanders, stating they are ‘ready to win anything’ and adding, “They’ve already proven they can win,” referencing their strong 2024 season that saw them make it to the playoffs.

As for what Samuel plans to bring to the team, particularly on the offensive line with Jayden Daniels, he highlighted his unique approach, declaring, “I’m just coming in to add my dog mentality.”

In his final season with the 49ers, Deebo Samuel fell short of the 1,000-yard mark, finishing with just 670 yards. He hasn’t reached the coveted ‘1,000’ milestone since 2021, when he recorded 1,405 yards with an impressive average of 18.2 yards per reception.

Can Samuel boost the Commanders’ offense?

Samuel has the potential to bring something unique to the Commanders’ offense, especially with Daniels’ strong passing abilities. However, in 2024, the former 49ers wide receiver struggled with a few dropped passes, which slipped through his hands.

In 2024, the Commanders boasted the 5th-best offense in the NFL and made it to the conference championship. However, their defense remained a weak point. The team’s leading receiver was Terry McLaurin with 82 receptions, followed by veteran Zach Ertz with 66. Samuel, by contrast, caught only 51 passes last year.
