After missing two of his prime years in the NFL because of injuries, a former Josh Allen teammate is looking for a second chance. Once a highly productive player, a jet-ski accident sidelined him. Still, he feels he can make an impact in the league.
Nyheim Miller-Hines rose to be a very important player for the Indianapolis Colts in his first few years in the league. He served both as a pass-catching running back and a very good returner for the special teamsâ unit. So much so, that in 2022, the Buffalo Bills signed him to strengthen their offense and get Josh Allen a bit more help.
However, a jet-ski accident injured his knee in a serious way. According to Adam Schefterâs report, Miller-Hines believes his knee is all healed up. Not only that, he wants to get a new team before the season starts.
Is Miller-Hines a good weapon to have?
Miller-Hines can still be attractive to teams. After all, he is only 28 years old. If he gets a chance to prove himself, he will be eager to do so. He was a great pass-catcher in his day, and thatâs something every quarterback will value, as it opens checkdowns and play-action passes for them.

While he might need some time to recover his football form, Miller-Hines was always regarded as a very athletic player. His explosiveness, dynamic style and ability to offer some special teams action will surely lure some NFL teams to give him a shot. Plus, he will be cheap.
Can he reunite with the Buffalo Bills?
Well, never say never, but it might not be a priority for Buffalo. They have a very talented running back in James Cook and a reliable backup in Ty Johnson. Therefore, playing with Josh Allen again might not be easy. However, he would offer some needed special teams danger. Having said that, the Bills signed Laviska Shenault Jr., who has made a name for himself as a returner as well.
Whether itâs on the Bills or not, itâs good to see Miller-Hines not give up and try to come back. Hopefully, he can impress a team and get to sign a contract before training camps unfold. Some preseason action would help him lots to regain football pace.
