The Baltimore Ravens have confirmed the signing of cornerback Jaire Alexander, a move that has created a major buzz around the NFL, especially because it fulfills a personal request from the team’s star quarterback, Lamar Jackson. The new addition is also great news for head coach John Harbaugh, who gains depth in his secondary.
Jackson had publicly expressed his desire to bring in his former University of Louisville teammate to help bolster the Ravens’ defense, and now his wish has come true. The reigning league MVP now has key support on the other side of the ball.
Harbaugh also shared his thoughts on Alexander’s arrival and praised the addition of the veteran cornerback, formerly of the Green Bay Packers. The Ravens and the 28-year-old had been working behind the scenes to make it happen, and after a few days of talks, it all came together, giving the team plenty of reason to celebrate.
John Harbaugh’s reaction about Jaire Alexander at Ravens
“I know he wanted to be here. We wanted him here. For it to work out the way it did, it made Lamar happy. I think it made everybody happy. An opportunity to be a better team in that sense today, so we’re really excited about it,” coach Harbaugh said of Alexander’s arrival, according to NBC Sports.

Jaire Alexander #23 of the Green Bay Packers looks on against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on November 17, 2024 in Chicago, Illinois.
Alexander is expected to bring valuable experience to Baltimore, having recorded 287 tackles, 12 interceptions, 70 passes defensed, and one pick-six over 78 games with the Packers. After dealing with multiple injuries in recent seasons, staying healthy will be a crucial factor in his impact moving forward.
