One year ago, Tua Tagovailoa suffered a hip injury that put his football career in jeopardy. Fast-forward to last Sunday and the Alabama product was finally able to make his debut in the NFL for the Miami Dolphins.

The fact that coach Brian Flores sent Tua out there to throw his first couple of career passes was a sign that he was healthy enough to play. However, it seemed like we’d still have to wait a little longer before it was Tua Time in Florida.

That’s why it was so surprising to find out that the Miami Dolphins plan to name Tua Tagovailoa their starting quarterback for the remainder of the season, with Ryan Fitzpatrick turning again to a backup role, according toAdam Schefter.

Ryan Fitzpatrick To Back Up Tua

Ryan Fitzpatrick was well aware of the fact that he’d had to give the keys of the offense to Tua Tagovailoa at some point in the season, and he even hyped him up when he took the gridiron last Sunday.

Then again, it’s still surprising to see that the Dolphins, who are currently sitting on a 3-3 record and have a shot at their division, are ready to turn to Tua so early in the season with Fitzpatrick playing quite well.

Thus far, the veteran signal-caller had completed 98 of 142 passes for 994 yards with 4 touchdowns and 5 picks. Now, he’ll watch from the sidelines as the promising dual-threat rookie takes the helm for the Dolphins. Ready or not, it’s Tua Time!
