NFL News: Aaron Rodgers confirms if Vikings will be his next team

Aaron Rodgers denied during an interview with Pat McAfee that he made a pitch to the Minnesota Vikings to play for them next season. According to a report by Albert Breer, the veteran was willing to be a mentor for J.J. McCarthy, but the quarterback has rejected any connection and is not expecting to sign with that team soon.

“There have been a lot of narratives that are not accurate, like something I just read about me pitching something to the Vikings. I know Ben (Roethlisberger) was on the show talking about me waiting around for the Vikings. That’s not accurate either. I’m sure there’s a lot of sentiment from both Packers’ and Vikings’ fans about certain things, but, no.”

Although anything could happen in the coming weeks, Rodgers made it very clear that he never offered to the Vikings and is not waiting for them as the best opportunity to win the Super Bowl. The star could have left that door open, but, firmly, he did not.

Will Aaron Rodgers sign with the Vikings?

No. Aaron Rodgers said he is not waiting for the Vikings and at no point during his conversation with Pat McAfee did he suggest he is waiting to see what happens with J.J. McCarthy. The only thing he admitted is that he is in contact with Kevin O’Connell because they have been friends for almost 20 years.

“I’ve known Kevin forever. I’ve known Kevin O’Connell since we used to workout at San Diego County. I’ve known him for 17 or 18 years. We’ve got a good friendship. We’ve had a good communication.”
