Aaron Rodgers could be very close to signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers. According to statements by Ian OâConnor, who wrote a well-known book about the quarterback, he assured that the problems in Rodgersâ inner circle will not be an obstacle for the veteran to play.
âTalking to a couple other people close to Aaron, I think I have a sense of what it might be. I donât think it would prevent him from playing football with the Steelers. Iâm not doing consistent day to day reporting on his life that I did when I talked to 250 people in doing that book, but I have occasionally reached out. The sense I got was, I think I have a pretty good sense of what it is, and I donât think itâs something that would prevent him from playing football.â
At the moment, no one knows what will happen with the Super Bowl champion quarterback, but in an interview with Pat McAfee, the star had already admitted a few weeks ago that there are personal situations preventing him from fully committing to the team.
Is Aaron Rodgers retiring or signing with Steelers?
OâConnor believes that Aaron Rodgers will soon sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers, as retirement is not an option. In fact, the writer went even further by suggesting that there is likely already some sort of verbal agreement in place with the team.
âI just think verbally, behind the scenes, not that he guaranteed it, but heâs told the Steelers: âListen, Iâm going to play for you. I just donât want to go there and then miss part of mandatory minicamp because of my personal issues. Iâm pretty sure theyâre gonna be solved by the end of May, at least in my satisfaction where I can give you my all.â So, thatâs where I think he is.â
