NFL News: Aaron Rodgers is reportedly leaning toward a final choice between playing for Steelers and retirement

Aaron Rodgers may be nearing the end of one road and the start of another. As speculation swirls, sources indicate the veteran quarterback is leaning toward a final choice. Suit up for the Pittsburgh Steelers or walk away from the game entirely.

Aaron Rodgers could be very close to signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers. According to statements by Ian O’Connor, who wrote a well-known book about the quarterback, he assured that the problems in Rodgers’ inner circle will not be an obstacle for the veteran to play.

“Talking to a couple other people close to Aaron, I think I have a sense of what it might be. I don’t think it would prevent him from playing football with the Steelers. I’m not doing consistent day to day reporting on his life that I did when I talked to 250 people in doing that book, but I have occasionally reached out. The sense I got was, I think I have a pretty good sense of what it is, and I don’t think it’s something that would prevent him from playing football.”

At the moment, no one knows what will happen with the Super Bowl champion quarterback, but in an interview with Pat McAfee, the star had already admitted a few weeks ago that there are personal situations preventing him from fully committing to the team.

Is Aaron Rodgers retiring or signing with Steelers?

O’Connor believes that Aaron Rodgers will soon sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers, as retirement is not an option. In fact, the writer went even further by suggesting that there is likely already some sort of verbal agreement in place with the team.

“I just think verbally, behind the scenes, not that he guaranteed it, but he’s told the Steelers: ‘Listen, I’m going to play for you. I just don’t want to go there and then miss part of mandatory minicamp because of my personal issues. I’m pretty sure they’re gonna be solved by the end of May, at least in my satisfaction where I can give you my all.’ So, that’s where I think he is.”
