The buzz surrounding Shedeur Sanders ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft has only intensified as the critical date in Green Bay nears. Recently, Deion Sanders made a bold statement that turned heads regarding his preferred landing spot for his son in the league. However, the college football head coach has now set the record straight.

The Colorado Buffaloes’ quarterback is expected to be the second signal caller taken off the board during the 2025 NFL Draft, which would put him as a lock to be at least a top-10 selection.

Recently, Deion voiced a bold message, stating: “Let’s hope it’s New York,” when asked where he wished his son to start his NFL career. The Giants own the third overall pick in the upcoming Draft, and could be a very realistic destination for Shedeur.

However, Deion’s wish may have been taken out of context, as the Hall of Famer has now addressed the topic, delivering a different message.

“If it’s New York it’s New York, if it’s Tennessee, if it’s Cleveland, if it’s still the Raiders, if it’s New Orleans, if it’s any of those teams that are seeking a quarterback I’m happy with it, man,” Deion Sanders stated, via NBC Sports. “Because I know what he’s going to do to the organization.”

Shedeur’s thoughts

While Deion doesn’t intend to interfere with the draft process, allowing the pieces to fall where they may as Shedeur enters the NFL, Primetime’s son does have a preferred franchise—though its identity remains unclear.

“Shedeur has told me, he’s talked to me intently about all the visits he’s had with all the teams, so I know where his heart is, I know where he wants to go,” Deion said about Shedeur.

What happens in Las Vegas…

Most signs point to the Las Vegas Raiders, where Tom Brady’s presence makes it a dream scenario for any quarterback transitioning from college football. Additionally, the various connections between the Sanders family and the organization in Sin City position the Raiders as a clear-cut favorite to land Shedeur.
