The Miami Dolphins were one of several teams that made moves within their roster during this year’s free agency. Unfortunately for Tua Tagovailoa, one of his key weapons over the past few NFL seasons will now be joining Sam Darnold and Cooper Kupp on the Seattle Seahawks.
Talented wide receiver River Cracraft, who joined the team under head coach Mike McDaniel in 2022, is leaving the Florida franchise and heading to the NFC, where he will be joining the Seahawks as they prepare for what’s ahead.
The news was announced days ago via the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Seattle Seahawks, with a brief statement that didn’t provide further details about the arrival of the former Washington State player.
“A coug back in the PNW. We’ve signed WR River Cracraft,” that’s how the player was announced, someone who can also serve as a return specialist if the coaching staff deems it necessary.

Tua Tagovailoa #1 and River Cracraft #85 of the Miami Dolphins celebrate after a touchdown in the second quarter of a game against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium on September 10, 2023 in Inglewood, California.
With this move, the Seahawks become the fifth team Cracraft will join since entering the NFL. He previously played for the Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, and the aforementioned Dolphins.

Back in the AFC East battle
This NFL season is undoubtedly going to give us plenty to talk about, and the AFC East is expected to be more competitive than ever. In this fierce battle for the division, Tua’s Dolphins have no intention of being mere bystanders.
Josh Allen’s Bills have been dominant in recent years, but growing parity is expected this season. The Patriots made significant additions during free agency, while the Jets added talent in Justin Fields following Aaron Rodgers’ departure.
Where does Miami stand with all these changes? The franchise is aiming for a solid performance from Tua, hoping to take them deep into the playoffs once again and, who knows, maybe even make a Super Bowl run.
The Seahawks’ big additions
Mike Macdonald knows his team has significantly strengthened, and one of his top priorities will be to claim the NFC West. To achieve that, they secured the arrivals of Sam Darnold and Cooper Kupp (from the Vikings and Rams, respectively), and now they’ve added a new weapon to the offense with Cracraft’s arrival.
