The New York Giants have shaped their offseason around a clear goal: strengthening their defense while adjusting to the addition of veteran quarterback Russell Wilson. With Brian Daboll leading the way, the team is also looking to establish a healthy competition that includes Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston.
Wilson signed a one-year deal with the Giants after stints in Pittsburgh and Denver, bringing a decade of experience and a Super Bowl title to the table. His presence, combined with Dart and Winston, sets up a true battle to determine who will lead the teamās offensive efforts.
After years of inconsistency in the secondary, the Giants have turned their focus to reinforcing the safety position, where communication, speed, and play recognition are critical, especially with Wilson, Dart, or Winston leading the offense.
Giants sign safety to bolster the defense
The Giants have reached a deal with safety KāVon Wallace, who brings five NFL seasons under his belt, having stood out with the Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears. His addition aims to provide stability in deep coverage and leadership in the locker room.

Wallace was selected in the third round of the 2019 Draft by Philadelphia. During his time with the Eagles (2019ā22) and Bears (2023), he recorded 150 tackles, three interceptions, and 12 passes defended. He also had short stints with the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks.
