AFC rival says Russell Wilson shouldn’t be QB1 for the Giants next NFL season

Russell Wilson is the New York Giants’ big bet for the upcoming season — though not everyone sees it that way.

There’s no doubt that if one franchise is determined to return to the NFL spotlight, it’s the New York Giants. The move to bring in Russell Wilson is a clear sign of that intent — and while the veteran is expected to be the starter, not everyone is convinced he should be.

Tre Harris, the player everyone is talking about amid his unresolved contract situation with the Chargers, made the leap to the league after a successful college career with the Ole Miss Rebels.

So what’s the connection between the Giants, Wilson, and Harris? At Ole Miss, Harris played alongside quarterback Jaxson Dart — who is now expected to potentially serve as Russell Wilson’s primary backup in New York. Because of that bond, the talented wide receiver firmly believes Brian Daboll should give the rookie the starting job from Week 1.

“If you want to be honest, I think Week 1, he should really have the job,” Harris firmly stated during a recent appearance on the Up & Adams show.
