Jason Kelce has spoken out once again. In the early months of 2025, the play popularly known as the ā€œTush Pushā€ has become a hot topic of debate in the NFL. Following comments from the Philadelphia Eagles legend about the impact of the play, some organizations such as the Buffalo Bills and Green Bay Packers have pushed to have it banned.

It was the Packers who initially submitted the proposal to ban the Tush Push during the NFL’s annual meetings in Palm Beach, Florida. The vote on the matter was postponed until May to allow for further analysis. However, Kelce feels responsible for the controversy it has sparked.

The former Eagles center and brother of Travis Kelce had previously said that the Tush Push was tough on centers, who were put at excessive risk when executing the play, which he described as ā€œexhausting.ā€ His comments were used as a central argument to call for a ban, but Jason opposed the idea and even responded to the Bills owner, one of the main advocates for outlawing the play.

ā€œI think the good gentleman from Buffalo appears to have misunderstood my meaning of the word grueling, I have never called the play dangerous,ā€ Kelce posted on his X account (formerly Twitter), responding to Bills owner Terry Pegula, who had argued against the Tush Push during the league meeting by claiming that Kelce ā€œretired due to the wear and tear caused by the playā€.
