Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers have been linked to plenty of trade rumors as the team appears to be in need of a No. 2 wide receiver. However, despite growing expectations, a report from Jeremy Fowler explains the reason why they havenât made any moves in the market.
âThe Steelers havenât signed more veteran receivers up to this point in part because they are high on Roman Wilson, who impressed both in the joint practice with the Buccaneers and the game. Last night was a good sign for Pittsburgh.â
Wilson delivered a solid performance against the Bucs in the second preseason game for the Steelers with 2 catches for 72 yards. After a 2024 season derailed by injuries that kept him from shining in his rookie year, he is now expected to become a key weapon for Aaron Rodgers.
Will the Steelers trade for a wide receiver?
Fowler notes that the Steelers are not considering a trade at the moment, as they are satisfied with what theyâve seen from Roman Wilson. Even so, a surprise move canât be ruled out, as multiple reports have indicated that general manager Omar Khan has inquired about the situation of Terry McLaurin in Washington.
Although Khan received a negative response from the Commanders, his intentions reveal that the team is indeed looking for another caliber wide receiver if the right opportunity arises.
